The video confirms that La’an is the Enterprise’s chief security officer under Captain Christopher Pike. It also shows a meeting between her and Science Officer Spock, foreshadowing the future meetings between Spock and La’an’s ancestor, Khan Noonien Singh. The video does not specify the exact nature of La’an’s lineage. It also does not specify whether she has any of the same genetically-modified capabilities that Khan had.
