On October 6, 1967, Star Trek: The Original Series introduced its viewers to a whole new universe in the episode “Mirror, Mirror.” The episode’s premise is that a transporter malfunction causes Captain Kirk and his crewmates to swap places with their doppelgangers from a parallel timeline. In that universe, the United Federation of Planets does not exist. Instead, the Terran Empire reigns, and the crew of that empire’s ISS Enterprise are as ruthless and ambitious as their counterparts on the USS Enterprise are curious and compassionate....

It looks like Kubo Won’t Let Me Be Invisible is the next major manga series officially getting an anime of its own! Nene Yukimori’s original manga series has had some success with fans since it launched in the pages of Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump magazine back in 2019, but it’s yet to catch on with the manga audience at large. It’s surprising too considering that it’s another manga series dealing with a meeker central protagonist who meets a vibrant character who ends up forcing him out of his shell....

“Duel of the Fates” started to take over the arena at Anaheim’s Convention Center just a few weeks ago as a live choir belted it out to thousands of excited Star Wars fans. The stage turned red. Some smoke began to fill the air. The energy in the room shifted into something palpable. From either side of the stage, Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen emerged before centering themselves together, embracing their returns to the Star Wars world for the first time since their work as Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker, respectively, in the prequel trilogy....

In 2016, the brand-new game development team at Night School Studio, founded by cousins Adam Hines and Sean Krankel after leaving Telltale Games and Disney Interactive, released its first game, Oxenfree. The game’s evocative aesthetic, moody soundtrack, and real-time conversation-based gameplay proved a hit with critics and fans, earning awards nominations and winning one from the Independent Games Festival. Oxenfree proved successful enough for Night School Studio to remain open (which was hardly guaranteed as the studio was finding its footing) and release games like Afterparty and Next Stop Nowhere....

Percy Jackson creator Rick Riordan revealed an update of the Disney+ series. When the news first broke of the franchise picking back up on streaming, fans were ecstatic. Now, the author has penned a new update for fans on his personal blog. For the moment, things are firmly in the planning stages. A pilot script has been completed, which will make fans extra curious what tweaks are coming this time. All of these edits will occur before tossing things up to the head executives at Disney+....

Rising AEW star Max Caster of The Acclaimed has made a name for himself with his cutting rap lyrics as he and Anthony Bowens make their entrances before tag team matches. This week’s Dynamite was no exception, but Caster decided to take a shot at both Jon Moxley and his wife, Renee Paquette, which resulted in a pre-match beatdown. Caster said, “Call your girl, she all in my mentions, tryin’ to hit me up for some Oral Sessions....

RWBY will be getting its full anime debut this Summer, and now its new RWBY: Ice Queendom series has set its official premiere date with Crunchyroll! Fans are eagerly awaiting the next major volume in the popular animated series, but there will be a whole new way to enjoy the franchise sooner than that as it will be getting an official anime of its own. As part of the many anime making their premieres during the Summer 2022 anime schedule, now fans will be able to check out the new RWBY anime much sooner than originally expected when it was first announced....

The Hasbro G.I. Joe team held their Fan First Tuesday Livestream earlier this week, and over the course of the presentation, they revealed quite a few figures and sneak peeks. While there were several great reveals, it’s hard not to focus on the biggest surprise of the stream, which was the reveal of fan-favorite G.I. Joe character and WWE Hall of Famer Sgt. Slaughter, who is now coming to Hasbro’s excellent G....

This week’s episode of ABC’s Dancing With The Stars will have a special “Horror Night” theme to tie in with Halloween being later this week. WWE Superstar The Miz and dance partner Witney Carson are still alive in the competition, and they’ll be performing the Paso doble to RAIGN’s “Wicked Games” while dressed as the characters from the Hellraiser franchise. The former WWE Champion took to social media before the episode to show off his outfit for the night, looking virtually unrecognizable as Pinhead....

The newest season of Apex Legends is just a few days away now which means the release of the game’s newest Legend, Valkyrie, isn’t far away either. The high-flying Legend has a jetpack, missiles, and supreme rotation abilities that she’ll be bringing to the Apex Games on May 4th, and as players have most certainly already noticed, she’s got some strong connections to the greater Titanfall universe. To give players a preview of what she’s capable of before she arrives, Respawn Entertainment released a video showing off her abilities this week....

Last week on Black Lightning, the Pierce family was dealt some major blows. Jefferson’s (Cress Williams) legal woes having been set up on bogus embezzlement charges by Tobias Whale (Marvin “Krondon” Jones III) resulted in Lynn (Christine Adams) being locked out of her lab and her research taken. Then, Jen/Lightning (Laura Kariuki) is nearly captured in a setup by police chief Lopez (Melissa De Sousa). And, on top of that, the metahumans soon lose their abilities mysteriously....

Ryan Coogler decided to open up about how he’s had to grieve Chadwick Boseman. The director is in the same boat as Black Panther fans around the world after the actor’s tragic death last year. Coogler talked to The Hollywood Reporter about his career and his work with Boseman. It’s not hard to imagine how lonely the process to bring Black Panther II to life is without the series’ star. The actor was the first foundational piece on the way to making the wildly popular Marvel franchise....

Disneyland has announced the opening date for the Avengers Campus this year at Disney’s California Adventure. Disney Parks Blog announced that June 4th is the big day for all the guests who have been waiting to see the big Marvel attraction in person. The launch for Avengers Campus was supposed to be last year, but the coronavirus pandemic actually put the screws to that plan early on. However, Disney is now ready to give a bunch of fans the chance to learn from Avengers....

Bandai Namco and developer FromSoftware announced today that the servers for Elden Ring across all platforms will be going down later this week for some scheduled maintenance. Over the past month, FromSoftware has been having various issues for its multiplayer services on PC with the Dark Souls trilogy. In addition, the studio also noted that some of these same problems could be popping up in Elden Ring, which was its main focus at the time....

Amidst reports that EA is ditching the FIFA branding and giving the series a new name, a new report about FIFA 23 – or whatever it winds up being called – has surfaced online with some good news for fans of the series. Being an annualized series, FIFA doesn’t often evolve much or expand with new features and types of content. EA makes micro improvements each and every year, and only ever breaks from this when it drops the previous console generation....

The last few months have been rough on the injury front, with several WWE superstars sidelined from active competition. The good news is that former Women’s Tag Team Champion and current Queen of WWE Zelina Vega is teasing she will return to TV soon. Vega responded to a fan who tweeted “#WeWantQueenZelina”, revealing that she is set to return soon and has just been letting the “humans” have their fun. James Gunn’s Peacemaker will be heading to HBO Max in January and excitement for the highly anticipated series just keeps growing. However, when it comes to where Peacemaker fits into the timeline as compared to The Suicide Squad, many fans have questioned if the series is a sequel or a prequel. Now, Gunn has clarified things, sharing on social media that the John Cena-starring series is a sequel to The Suicide Squad....

The Marvel family is getting bigger. Marvel Studios is reportedly courting “big names” to direct the Fantastic Four reboot bringing the superhero family of Mr. Fantastic, the Invisible Woman, the Human Torch, and the Thing into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Kevin Feige announced Tom Holland’s Spider-Man director Jon Watts would direct the reboot during Disney’s Investor Day in December 2020, but Watts officially stepped away from the MCU in April. According to Deadline’s Justin Kroll, Feige is considering an established filmmaker to helm Fantastic Four after recruiting Sony’s Spider-Man trilogy director Sam Raimi to replace Scott Derrickson on Doctor Strange 2....

My Hero Academia teases a new uniform for Himiko Toga at the upcoming first major exhibition for the series! My Hero Academia is currently celebrating the fifth anniversary of its official anime adaptation, and it’s breaking out in a big way with the first official art exhibition for the franchise featuring tons of new art from series creator Kohei Horikoshi. The official Twitter account for the upcoming exhibition has been teasing some of this new art with previews of the various works, and the newest sneak peek is teasing a new look for Himiko Toga....

Nike revealed that Paul George has some PS5 shoes on deck this season according to HypeBeast. The NBA All-Star has an established relationship with Sony as he’s had shoes based on the brand before. PG13 is on his fifth signature shoe, so it only makes sense that he would be down to celebrate the PS5. Things originally got rolling on the wildly popular PG 2 and PG 2.5. Prices for that pair are still rising on resale apps like StockX and eBay right now....
