Jeopardy! champion Brayden Smith has died at the age of 24. The five-time winner loved the program from birth and had recently appeared on the show. Jeopardy! heard the news from Debbie Smith on social media. Thousands of fans are flooding into that post on Twitter to offer their condolences. It seems as though the fanbase is more vocal and supportive than ever after the pandemic began. Everyone is still reeling from the loss of TV legend Alex Trebek as well....

WWE’s Monday Night Raw opened this week with “Stone Cold” Steve Austin’s iconic music ringing throughout the arena. Only instead of “The Texas Rattlesnake,” out walked Kevin Owens in a bald cap while wearing Austin’s iconic “Austin 3:16” shirt, cut-off jeans and knee braces. He then proceeded to imitate Austin’s catchphrases, including “Gimme a hell yeah!” and “What?” before talking about how Owens was going to embarrass him at WrestleMania. He even tricked the Chicago crowd into thinking Austin was coming out for real by hitting the music again, only to start laughing at everyone....

Eternals fans just got a new look at the Marvel heroes’ costumes on the cover of Total Film. The magazine tweeted out multiple shots of the team in their new duds this morning. When the Nintendo Switch OLED launches later this year, the system will retail for $349, which is $50 more than the current model of the console. A recent report from Bloomberg claimed that, despite this increase in price, the OLED version costs just $10 more for Nintendo to manufacture. Today, Nintendo addressed that reporting with a new Tweet, debunking Bloomberg’s figure. According to the company, Nintendo’s profit margin compared to the previous Nintendo Switch model will not be increasing....

When it comes to horror movie posters, few are as iconic as Drew Struzan’s work for 1982’s The Thing, depicting a parka-clad human with an eerie glow emanating from their face, with Vice Press honoring that seminal artwork with an all-new 3D lenticular poster release. Multiple versions of the poster will be released, as fans will either be able to purchase a recreation of the original poster featuring the title treatment as well as the film’s credits, in addition to an art print highlighting just the famous artwork....

Production for HBO Max’s Peacemaker is coming to a close as director James Gunn continues to celebrate the actors who have wrapped production. At the end of June, Gunn praised the completed work of Annie Chang, Lochlyn Munro, Christopher Heyerdahl, and Rizwan Manji. Now, he’s back on social media to announce Danielle Brooks, Steve Agee, Chukwudi Iwuji, Robert Patrick, and Jennifer Holland have wrapped. In addition to John Cena, who is playing the titular role, Agee and Holland are also reprising their roles from The Suicide Squad....

Konami is making some big changes to its Pro Evolution Soccer series. The publisher announced today that the game has been renamed eFootball, and will be offered free-to-play starting this fall. The title is also getting a “new soccer engine with a newly built animation system and revamped game commands.” The game will be playable on a number of different platforms. When eFootball launches in early fall, it will offer local matches with teams like FC Barcelona, Juventus, FC Bayern, Manchester United, and more....

Currently, on Supergirl, the titular heroine and the rest of the Super Friends are trying to stop Nyxly (Peta Sergeant), a Fifth Dimensional Imp determined to acquire the power that will let her get vengeance on those who have wronged her - including Supergirl herself (Melissa Benoist). While this could spell trouble for National City as much as it does for the heroes, there’s another threat set to return. Lex Luthor (Jon Cryer) isn’t done just yet, and when he returns it sounds like he won’t just find in Nyxly someone with similar aims, he’ll find love, too....

The cast of The Suicide Squad is trying to manifest a number of things this week. First, everyone involved is hoping for a major weekend at the box office. Second, they’re hoping to get a major new landmark in Edmonton named after The Suicide Squad star Nathan Fillion. The Canadian city is in the process converting a series of downtown parking lots into a luscious green park, and one new online petition hopes the city will opt to name it the Nathan Fillion Civilian Pavilion....

The Walking Dead Universe brings in the baddies to break down 2020 — or as Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) puts it in his profanity-filled first appearance: “Shut that sh-t down.” Walking Dead chief content officer Scott Gimple shared the commissioned artwork ahead of New Year’s Eve, showing Negan taking a swing at the past year with beloved barbwire-wrapped baseball bat Lucille. FTR’s Dax Harwood was unexpectedly pulled from a three-way tag team match due to a possible legitimate shoulder injury. Harwood was shown being escorted to the back on camera in the middle of the FTR/Roppongi Vice/Jeff Cobb & Great O’Khan three-way match, with two titles on the line. The injury appeared to be legitimate, but Harwood returned to the match later on with his shoulder heavily taped and what appeared to be ice packs underneath....

Baby Yoda made its grand return to Saturday Night Live and wanted to box Baby Groot. During Weekend Update, the character joked that training with Jake Paul had been going well. Celebrity boxing is all the rage right now and SNL decided to poke fun at the resurgence. Now, Groot and The Child have been joked about as opposite sides of the spectrum on social media for almost a year and change now....

Electronic Arts and DICE have officially released a short film titled “Exodus” that offers perhaps the best look yet at what caused the “No-Pat Civil War” in the upcoming video game Battlefield 2042, which is itself set to release for the Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC on October 22nd. The announcement that there would be a short film came earlier this month, but beyond the fact that it would be set in the world of Battlefield 2042 and offer some explanation as to how the all-out war in the video game kicked off, not much was known about its contents....

Ghostbusters star Bill Murray is set to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the upcoming Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, but when the iconic actor makes that debut, it won’t be the first time he’s played a Marvel character. Murray was once the voice of a Marvel hero—and a pretty significant one at that. On Twitter Monday, comic book writer Dan Slott noted that both “Reed Richards” and “Bill Murray” were trending topics on the social media site and took the opportunity to offer a little footnote about Murray: the actor was once the voice of Johnny Storm, The Human Torch on the Fantastic Four radio show....

Captain Marvel star Brie Larson showed her support for Olympic Gymnast Laurie Hernandez this weekend. The gold medal winner decided to rep Carol Danvers during her 2021 Winter Cup routine. The crowd seemed to enjoy the performance, and the MCU star was fully on board too. Now, there have been some athletes to wear Captain Marvel-inspired shoes or clothes, but a lot of them haven’t competed in the Olympics. If that wasn’t enough pop culture flexing, Hernandez also used a song from Hamilton for the routine as well....

Back on March 21, CD Projekt Red announced a new Witcher game, tentatively dubbed The Witcher 4 by the Internet, despite CDPR insisting this isn’t a formal title for the game. Right now, there’s no word of platforms, a release date, or when it will be revealed. All we know about the game is that it’s going to be running on Unreal Engine 5, which is a major change for the series, as previous games, including The Witcher 3, have run on CD Projekt Red’s internal engine....
