Lucasfilm fans have grown accustomed to filmmakers joining and exiting projects in recent years, due in large part to the growing number of Star Wars adventures, but one of the more disappointing reveals recently has been director John M. Chu announcing that he couldn’t direct the upcoming Willow sequel series, due to the planned production schedule. Not only were fans disappointed that Chu won’t be involved in the new series, so was writer Jon Kasdan, who took to Twitter to share how he was “crushed” by the departure and noted how much of a leading force the filmmaker was for the entire series....

Zack Snyder is getting ready for Justice Con 2021 with a Justice League and Army of the Dead poster. This year’s even figures to be even bigger than last year as the Snyder Cut has emerged as a cultural force. You can catch all the action on Justice Con’s YouTube channel. Fans will be excited to hear that the creator will be promoting the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. It’s been a personal mission for a lot of the Snyder Cut fans to help raise as much money for that cause as possible....

AEW officially announced on this week’s AEW Dynamite that it will run a supershow crossover event, Forbidden Door, alongside New Japan Pro-Wrestling on June 26 at the United Center in Chicago. Tony Khan tried to make the announcement midway through the show and brought out New Japan’s president Takami Ohbari. However, Adam Cole interrupted Khan and made the announcement while confirming he’d be facing Tomohiro Ishii on this week’s AEW Rampage....

Black Adam is expected to expand the DC Films mythos in some genuinely compelling ways, not only introducing Dwayne Johnson’s take on the titular antihero, but multiple members of the Justice Society of America. With production on the film expected to begin in the coming months, fans have been curious to see exactly how it will establish its world – and a series of new set photos provide a pretty compelling look....

A new mid-season update has been released for Halo Infinite Season 1, and it promises a number of welcome improvements for players. As a result of today’s update, players can expect to see audio improvements, fixes to Quick Resume on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, stability improvements on Xbox One, and more. Most notably, several improvements have been made to the game’s anti-cheat measures, which should come as welcome news....

Five original costumes from the Marvel Studios film, as well as new behind-the-scenes details of how new technologies are enhancing the ability of cinema to illustrate new futures, will debut on November 20th as part of the new Smithsonian FUTURES exhibition at the museum’s historic Arts and Industries Building (AIB)....

Last month, it was reported that Bill Murray is joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe with a secret role in the upcoming Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Now, on the red carpet for the premiere of Ghostbusters: Afterlife, Murray’s co-star in that film and Ant-Man himself Paul Rudd, was asked about Murray’s participation in the eagerly anticipated Marvel film and Rudd dodged the issue, suggesting that maybe folks were confused by his work on Ghostbusters instead....

A new Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl report has reportedly leaked an E3 2021 surprise Nintendo was apparently brewing up for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch Lite players. We haven’t heard or seen anything from the pair of Nintendo Switch remakes since they were announced earlier this year, but this is expected to change around E3 2021, whether during the Nintendo Direct planned for the show or during a separate Pokemon Direct right before E3 2021....

The Miz’s second reign as WWE Champion may come to a sudden end on next week’s Monday Night Raw, as “The A-Lister” will have to defend his championship against Bobby Lashley. This week’s episode kicked off with Miz and John Morrison celebrating his successful Money in the Bank cash-in on Drew McIntyre at Elimination Chamber, only for Lashley and MVP to interrupt. The pair reminded him of the deal they made backstage before his cash-in, that Lashley would get the first crack at Miz’s title after assisting him with the cash-in....

Call them “what if” stories, parallel universes, or whatever other name you want, there is something exciting and intriguing about an alternate universe in comics. Generally, these kinds of stories allow for a rich exploration of characters and concepts that the “regular” continuity simply doesn’t allow, but they usually have a major drawback in that they’re just stories with no strong tie to continuity. That results in stories that are fun distractions which don’t possess the same stakes as something from the “real world” as readers know it....

After years worth of hype and chatter online, Disney’s live-action take on The Little Mermaid is officially filming, and fans have been eager to see exactly how the unique project will come together. In particular, many are curious to see grown-ish star and Grammy-nominated musician Halle Bailey’s performance as Ariel, the young mermaid who sacrifices her voice for a chance to walk on land. After set photos of the actress initially surfaced online earlier this month, a new batch of photos provide a whole new look at Bailey in character — complete with a version of the iconic sail dress that Ariel wears in the animated film....

My Hero Academia has released a special teaser for an upcoming exhibition celebrating its big fifth anniversary! Kohei Horikoshi’s original manga series has been running for nearly seven years at this point, but the anime adaptation will soon be celebrating its fifth anniversary. To commemorate this major milestone for the franchise, the series will be going all out with a series of new events for different aspects of the franchise. This will include a special art exhibition for the franchise featuring closer looks at the original manga in Japan coming this April....

Ahead of today’s Nintendo Direct, a new Nintendo Switch Online update has leaked. The leak doesn’t include details on what exactly the update entails, but it’s set to go live after the Nintendo Direct, all but confirming there will be Nintendo Switch Online news during the Nintendo Direct, likely in the form of news that more games are coming to the subscription service. Whether these will be more SNES or NES games or more Nintendo 64 games, remains to be seen....

PlayStation Plus has revealed that it’s soon going to give subscribers the ability to upgrade a popular PlayStation 4 game to its PlayStation 5 iteration for no cost whatsoever. Specifically, that game in question happens to be Final Fantasy VII Remake, which was a free title that came to PS Plus earlier this year for PS4. While those who bought Final Fantasy VII Remake were able to upgrade to the game’s PS5 version for no cost upon its release earlier this summer, Square Enix revealed that those who solely owned the title via PS Plus would instead have to pay for this cross-generation upgrade....

Pokemon Go has announced that it is restoring the distances needed to interact with Poke Stops and Gyms and making them the new default for the game moving forward. Niantic announced the major changes today via social media, effectively reversing their decisions made a month ago. Moving forward, players will only need to be within 80 meters of a Poke Stop or Gym’s geographical location in order to interact with them through spinning Photo Discs, battling defender Pokemon, or participating in raids with a standard pass....

Pokemon Sword and Shield players on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch Lite are shocked after discovering an adorable feature that is apparently very easy to miss. This holiday season will be two years since the release of Sword and Shield. Despite this, many players are regularly discovering “new” features, and new is in quotation marks, because, technically, they aren’t new, just not widely known. What this is indicative of, who can say, but a couple of times of a month, a player over on Reddit or Twitter discovers a “new” feature, and the discovery goes viral because so many players of the game had no clue it existed....

With another “Star Wars Day” upon us, fans of the galaxy far, far away have taken to celebrating the series on social media, with one of the franchise’s biggest fans, Star Wars: The Last Jedi writer/director Rian Johnson, taking to Twitter to show his appreciation for fans by sharing a behind-the-scenes video of the destruction of a hut on Ahch-to. The impressive video shows off how the segmented nature of the hut allowed the effects team to practically dismantle the structure, creating an impressive sequence in the final film....
