Not only does the line perfectly encapsulate the team’s deadly circumstances (where one wrong move can lead to a bomb going off in your head), while also feeling like an unintentional mantra amid the past year of a pandemic — but in a way, it’s almost an acknowledgment of the very nature of superhero storytelling, where retcons, reboots, and even just the passage of time can lead to fascinating heroes and villains fading into obscurity....
Fortnite recently debuted its much-anticipated Chapter 3 content, bringing in new locations, new characters, and all sorts of new things to find and collect. It also brought major new characters into the game like Spider-Man and Marcus Fenix, continuing the game’s impressive implementation of popular franchises. Xbox Live has decided against increasing prices and fans are happy about the development. Earlier today, Microsoft decided to announce the change and the community was in an uproar over the decision. A 6-month subscription would have cost $59.99 instead of $39.99. Apex Legends from developer Respawn Entertainment is set to enter Season 10, “Emergence,” later this week on August 3rd, and with it comes a host of new content like the new Legend Seer, map updates, a new weapon, and more. And also, there will be cosmetic loot like new trackers for Legends. This weekend, it would appear that the developer unintentionally added a new Lifeline tracker from the upcoming update to the loot pool for Apex Packs, the game’s loot boxes featuring three cosmetic items....
Chapter 3, Season 1 of Fortnite has taken players’ expectations and turned them (sometimes literally) upside down, offering new gameplay elements and surprising new tidbits of lore. Among them was the long-rumored confirmation that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is portraying The Foundation, an original character within Fortnite who popped up in several cinematics and even a comic book one-shot. When the new season launched, Epic Games teased that The Foundation would eventually be unlockable as the secret skin for the newest Battle Pass — and now, it looks like that time has come....
PS4 is losing a console exclusive to Xbox next week, or more specifically, to Xbox One, though the game will be playable on Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X via backward compatibility. Unlike Xbox, which struggled to develop compelling exclusive games for Xbox One, Sony delivered a variety of not just great games, but some generation-defining titles as well, most of which were exclusive to its last-gen PlayStation machine. These PS4 exclusives include God of War, Ghost of Tsushima, Bloodborne, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, Marvel’s Spider-Man, The Last of Us Part 2, Death Stranding, and Horizon Zero Dawn....
The Munsters was an iconic sitcom that debuted in 1964 and followed a loveable yet spooky family. The series spawned a spin-off series as well as some movies, and the family is finally returning after quite a while. Batgirl on HBO Max will reportedly include “the real Batman” according to the directors of the film. Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah were asked by VRTNWS about which Batman will be a part of the project. They both laughed and just said that it was “the real one”. Since Cyberpunk 2077 released last fall, there has been a big spotlight on the game’s bugs. The title wasn’t released in the best state (particularly on consoles), and many consumers weren’t happy with the final results. Following CD Projekt Red’s recent data breach, videos have been released online of highlight reel footage of some of the game’s bugs, which were shared internally. These bug reel videos were edited together by the development team for comedic effect....
Jeff Hardy was arrested and booked early Monday morning in Volusia County Florida on three charges, including driving under the influence (his third offense in 10 years) and driving with a suspended/revoked license. Since then, a number of details regarding the arrest have become public. Per Marc Raimondi of ESPN, Hardy took a breathalyzer test that provided a 0.294 blood-alcohol content reading. Marvel’s Avengers has a special Spider-Man: Far From Home and MCU surprise for Avengers fans, and it’s dropping tomorrow. When Spider-Man was added to Marvel’s Avengers last year, it was alongside zero additional story content. At the time, developer Crystal Dynamics explained this controversial decision away by claiming the team didn’t want to work on the content that would be locked behind PlayStation exclusivity. This hasn’t changed, but Crystal Dynamics has started to show Spider-Man fans some love with the occasional release of new MCU suits for the character....
The first footage from Marvel’s She-Hulk made its debut on Friday, as part of the massive Disney+ Day event. The teaser provided a brief — but unique — look at the Marvel Comics’ heroine’s debut into live-action, with clips that fans are still processing. One element of the footage that has definitely stood out is the dynamic between cousins Jennifer Walters / She-Hulk (Tatiana Maslany) and Bruce Banner / Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), and one of their scenes together includes a surprising Easter egg....
