The CW has released a preview for “Armageddon, Part 2,” the second episode of the five-part “Armageddon” event kicking off Season 8 of The Flash. This week, Barry Allen/The Flash’s (Grant Gustin) positive new normal in Central City is disrupted when the mysterious Despero (Tony Curran) shows up from the future intent on killing Barry, declaring that he is the reason for the end of the world in just ten years....
Spider-Man: No Way Home star Tom Holland pitched some non-MCU movie ideas to Sony when their deal with Disney expired. Those storylines included a Venom crossover and Kraven the Hunter. In a conversation with Empire Magazine, the Spidey actor revealed that when the future of his character being in the Marvel Studios films was up in the air, he drove straight to producer Amy Pascal’s house and began pitching storylines. As the entire Internet went into a lather about Spider-Man not being a part of the MCU anymore, Holland was all about trying to figure out what the plan was for the future....
Marvel Comics is reprinting some popular Scarlet Witch and Vision books after WandaVision took the world by storm. A report from Entertainment Weekly says that the company will be bringing back Vision by Tom King and Gabriel Hernandez Walta, Scarlet Witch by James Robinson and a number of artists, and Vision and Scarlet Witch by Steve Englehart with Don Heck and Bill Mantlo on art. 2005’s House of M will also be getting the reprint treatment too....
John Cena will appear on WWE programming for the first time since SummerSlam 2021 on tonight’s Monday Night Raw and his presence is already being felt throughout the company. According to WrestleTix, more than 4,500 tickets were bought for the Sames Auto Arena in Laredo, Texas after WWE made the announcement that Cena would be returning there. @WrestleVotes then added this morning, “Aside from the obvious business boost, I’m told the return of John Cena is as exciting for the locker room as it is for the fans....
WWE has been counting down the 50 Greatest Tag Teams of All Time on a series of Peacock specials over the past few weeks. On Wednesday the series concluded by revealing the No. 1 tag team was none other than The New Day. Since Kofi Kingston, Big E and Xavier Woods first joined forces in 2014 the trio has held 11 tag team championships and own the record for longest single tag title reign at 483 days....
A Marvel movie was just removed from Disney+, and it’s none other than Fantastic Four (2005). The original live-action adaptation of Fantastic Four is now infamous for being the epitome of 2000s comic book movies - complete with its formulaic storyline, campy tone and visual effects, and questionable casting. At the same time, for every fan that looks at Fantastic Four and is glad the genre has moved (far) away from that early format, there’s another fan who now seems to appreciate the film for its kitschy fun....
The Lucha Brothers (Penta El Zero Miedo and Rey Fenix) defeated The Young Bucks inside a Steel Cage at Sunday’s All Out pay-per-view, winning the AEW World Tag Team Championships in what many have crowned a Match of the Year contender. According to Cagematch, the two teams have only met in standard tag team matches eight times, with the record in the luchadores’ favor at 5-3. One of the best things about the adaptation of Koyoharu Gotouge’s original manga series thus far is that the team at ufotable has been able to bring the series to life and expand on certain elements that don’t quite work as well in the original run. It’s the benefit of having the complete series to draw from, and the benefit of knowing where to add in exclusive material in order to better flesh out some of the characters that didn’t have that opportunity in the manga....
DC Comics and Fortnite have had a pretty interesting collaboration over the years, with the game featuring a number of cosmetic items based on the publisher’s array of heroes and villains. This summer, the two took their partnership to new heights with the release of the Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point comic miniseries, which is getting a sequel in the form of a Batman/Fortnite: Foundation one-shot. The one-shot has been confirmed to include a prominent appearance from The Batman Who Laughs, the alternate-universe combination of Batman and The Joker best known for the Dark Nights: Metal and Dark Nights: Death Metal storylines, and a Fortnite skin tied to the character has also been confirmed....

Madden NFL 22 has just released a new update and fans are crowding social media to see what tweaks have been implemented. On next-gen consoles, Scouting has been improved in Franchise mode. Along with that addition, The Yard now has a ranked mode too. Of course, EA has taken some time to add some new pass coverages, put some new gameplay abilities into the game, and tuned moment-to-moment gameplay. All of these changes go a long way in establishing the kind of realism that Madden fans enjoy when they boot up the game....
“Super Genie” Melissa Coates, who previously made appearances in WWE and Impact Wrestling and wrestled in Ohio Valley Wrestling and Deep South Wrestling, died on Wednesday at the age of 50. Coates had been managing former ECW star Sabu since 2014 but had not wrestled since October of that year and needed to have her leg amputated in late 2020. The Cauliflower Alley Club broke the news of her passing, writing, “Everyone here at the CAC is deeply saddened to hear the news that Super Genie Melissa Coates has passed away....
Nintendo has seemingly deconfirmed a Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC hopeful. The latest Super Smash Bros. game is set to gets its final DLC character later this year. When exactly, and who it will be, remains to be seen, but Nintendo fans can cross off Travis Touchdown from the list of potential characters. The protagonist of the No More Heroes series is already in the game as a Mii costume, and now the series has spirits as well, all but confirming he will not be the game’s final DLC character....
Actor Wyatt Russell made his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut last week in the final moments of the series premiere of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, which marked a surprising reflection of his own acting career, as he recently noted that his very first acting audition was for Steve Rogers in Captain America: The First Avenger. Russell did admit, however, that he didn’t assume he was actually in consideration for the role, more that it was an opportunity to see if he had what it took to go out for any further acting opportunities, with his current MCU ironically being the successor to Rogers with the Captain America mantle....

Before his tragic passing, Marvel star Chadwick Boseman was able to record multiple episodes for the animated series What If…?, the first of which will premiere this week. Boseman reprised his part as T’Challathe Black Panther for the Disney+ series and it will sadly mark his last time as the character. Speaking in a new interview though Marvel president Kevin Feige has revealed that his time recording the character for the show helped inform some decisions made on the upcoming sequel....
