Gintama has shared a new promo for its upcoming Semi-Final special series! Hideaki Sorachi’s Gintama might have come to an end some time ago, but now the anime franchise will be officially coming to an end with a final outing bringing back all of the fan favorites from the franchise as a whole. Now that this final anime outing, Gintama: The Final, now hitting theaters in Japan, fans will be treated to one other anime outing in order to properly build up to the events of the final movie....

The Gridman Universe will be continuing with a new feature film that brings Gridman and Dynazenon together in one place! As part of Tsuburaya Productions’ concerted effort to expand their various properties to new audiences around the world, they have been producing a number of new projects that show off their various characters in new ways. One of the most interesting has been the two season collaborations with Studio Trigger that gave a whole new kind of look to Denkou Chojin Gridman’s heroes, and now it’s set to continue with a new expansion of the universe that’s been crafted....

NASA’s Mars Ingenuity helicopter made history today, by completing the first-ever successful powered controlled flight on another planet. The milestone was reported by NASA after reviewing data at the Space Flight Operations Facility at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) outside of Los Angeles. According to the data, the Ingenuity helicopter executed its flight on Mars by ascending to approximately 10ft (or three meters) above the surface of Mars, before landing again on the Red Planet....

Shaman King’s reboot anime run will be going on hiatus due to programming from the Tokyo Olympics! The Summer Olympic games are now underway in Tokyo following a lengthy delay and near cancellation due to Tokyo’s newest state of emergency for the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, and anime fans have been surprisingly finding a lot to love about this newest slate of games. But with the games now taking place, some of the weekly anime scheduled will be doing some shuffling due to programming and one of these includes the Shaman King reboot now airing in Japan....

Ever since the premiere of The Mandalorian, Star Wars fans have been impressed by the work Jon Favreau has put into the series, which he continued to bring to its second season, though star of the upcoming Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi series Ewan McGregor recently confirmed that Favreau isn’t involved in that project. While this isn’t to say that Favreau might not offer some unofficial advice on the endeavor, especially considering Obi-Wan Kenobi will use the same filming techniques as The Mandalorian, these comments would seemingly refute the notion that Favreau might be taking on a more central role at Lucasfilm....

WandaVision star Kat Dennings is teasing a side of Darcy that Marvel fans have not seen yet. Viewers could hear the entire fandom cheering from their homes during episode 4 of the Disney+ series. She talked to TVLine about the show and how the Thor character had changed since the last time fans saw her. “I will say that you definitely see things from Darcy that have not been seen before,” she explained....

Xbox Game Pass has officially announced its first slate of “Coming Soon” titles for June 2021, and it includes The Wild at Heart, For Honor, Backbone, and Darkest Dungeon. Notably, The Wild at Heart is available as of today as part of the subscription service while the others will be added over the course of the next week and change. None of the new additions are major in the same way as, say, Grand Theft Auto V, but they all are fairly popular or much-anticipated in their own right....

All Elite Wrestling Spanish commentator Willie Urbina was fired over the weekend after mocking Hikaru Shida’s Japanese accent on the May 28 episode of AEW Dynamite. Shida had remained quiet over the situation in the days that followed and dropped the AEW Women’s World Championship to Britt Baker at Double or Nothing on Sunday. Call of Duty: Warzone players are currently fighting for their lives on the zombie-riddled island as the long-awaited nuclear event arrived on Wednesday afternoon in Verdansk. The event condensed all of Warzone down to just one playlist. The game mode it condensed into is titled “Destruction of Verdansk Part 1,” and it drops squads of four onto the map with shotguns in their hands. The goal is to survive long enough to exfil and get off the island....

Cruella got some new posters from Disney this week. It’s been a wild week for Emma Stone’s Dalmatian nemesis. Just today, the company announced a sequel to the film, and the Internet exploded with the news. Cruella has been hotly debated since the moment the project was announced. Interestingly, this fervor only intensified when the trailer dropped. There were immediate comparisons to Todd Phillips’ Joker. But, they’re very different movies. Then, there was the drama over the origin of the villain on social media....

WWE’s SummerSlam event is shaping up to be the company’s biggest event of the year. After the COVID-19 pandemic forced WrestleMania 37 to operate with a fraction of Raymond James Stadium’s capacity the company has sold more than 44,000 tickets for the Aug. 21 event at Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium. But with COVID cases back on the rise in the United States due to the Delta Variant, there’s been a growing concern that WWE might need to scrap their plans....

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is wrapping up its second weekend at the box office, and audiences seem to be enjoying the new Marvel flick. Currently, the sequel is up on Rotten Tomatoes with a 74% critics score and an 86% audience score. ComicBook.com’s Jenna Anderson gave the movie a 4 out of 5 and called it “an inventive, outrageous turning point for the MCU.” Warning: Spoilers Ahead! The movie featured some big surprises including John Krasinski as Mister Fantastic, which was a longtime fan cast come to life....

A viral TikTok has Phineas and Ferb creator Dan Povenmire and Jee “Swampy” Marsh are asking fans not to use the character Baljeet as a slur. This comes after some people familiar with the show are using the name as a way to ridicule people of South Asian ancestry. This sort of treatment has come into much sharper focus this year as physical attacks and other discrimination has become more prevalent in the news....

Resident Evil Village has all manners of mythical creatures for players to fight against from werewolves to swamp monsters and mechanized menaces, and perhaps unsurprisingly, there were even more ideas that didn’t make the cut. One of those ideas apparently dealt with adding mermaids – or at least something like those – to Salvatore Moreau’s section of the game. This and other details were shared by Resident Evil leaker Aesthetic Gamer this week, but they of course haven’t been verified by Capcom or anything like that, so it’s unclear how far exactly these ideas were worked on before they were abandoned....

Japanese singer LiSA has dipped her toes into several anime franchises in the past, supplying themes for series such as My Hero Academia, Fate/Stay, and Angel Beats! to name a few, but her popularity skyrocketed when she created the opening theme song for Demon Slayer’s television series, Gurenge. With the theme shattering records in Japan, it’s no surprise to see that LiSA has been asked to return to the world of anime, with the upcoming Sword Art Online movie, Progressive: Aria of a Starless Night, announcing that the singer will be returning to the franchise....

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands players got a free Skeleton Key code this weekend as an apology for the server problems surrounding the game’s launch. The game released on Friday with full crossplay support across all available platforms, but players soon found they weren’t able to play with each other due to problems with SHiFT, the online service Gearbox uses to connect players with each other. That free Skeleton Key code has an expiration date, however, so players only have a limited amount of time to use it while they wait for more to come after this one....

Tonight’s WWE NXT was set to have a great main event, as the Creed Brothers, Pretty Deadly, Grayson Waller and Sanga, Josh Briggs and Brooks Jensen, and Legado Del Fantasma all were set to compete for the vacated NXT Tag Team Championships. Up first were the Creed Brothers and Legado Del Fantasma, and Fantasma got off to a hot start. Eventually, the Creed Brothers were able to turn the tables, locking in simultaneous ankle locks, but Fantasma managed to reverse them to get some space....

Xbox Live Gold subscribers on Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S can now download a popular Nintendo GameCube game, for free, with no strings attached. In addition to the Xbox Games With Gold lineup for August – which includes Yooka-Laylee, Lost Planet 3, Garou: Mark of the Wolves, and Darksiders III – all Xbox Live Gold subscribers can now download, for a limited time, Ikaruga. According to Twitter account Wario64, subscribers will need an Argentina regional account (which costs nothing) to grab this freebie, but others are reporting they’ve been able to download the game for free without meeting this requirement....
