River, the real-life German Shepherd that Fallout 4’s Dogmeat companion was largely based on, has sadly passed away. Dogmeat was just one of many companions that players could pal around with in the title, but it was an early one that quickly became a fan-favorite character. The exact details of River’s death have not been released, which is not terribly unusual for animals, but Capy Games studio director Joel Burgess, who previously worked on the Fallout franchise at Bethesda, shared that he “said goodbye” to her last night before offering a bunch of memories about how River came to portray Dogmeat in the first place....

Nabbing an A- CinemaScore, Sony’s Ghostbusters: Afterlife is on its way to becoming the #1 movie in America after the studio has confirmed a Friday total of $16.5 million. The fourth film in the series, though one that ignores the 2016 reboot and acts as a sequel to the two films from the 1980s, will successfully hold off the competition this week with Marvel’s Eternals slipping into second place for the first time since debuting in theaters....

Part of what makes the Hunt a Killer series of mysteries so compelling is that they send you a new box each month to shed light on a fictional true-crime investigation, allowing subscribers to extend the journey out over months, but for those who prefer more traditional gaming experiences, the company has announced that retail games will be hitting shelves later this month. Hunt a Killer has also confirmed that they will be releasing a premium, all-in-one box in July, featuring an investigation into the death of a fictional camp counselor....

Lovecraft Country’s cast and creator were reportedly all prepared to get Season 2 underway before the cancellation announcement came down. Deadline reported that HBO would not be picking up the show for another batch of episodes, but Borys Kit of The Hollywood Reporter says that the showrunner, Misha Green, had already written the episodes for Season2. In fact, the pitch had already been delivered last year. So, that makes all of these decisions by HBO even more confounding....

Cyberpunk 2077 developer CD Projekt Red has released a new hotfix for the title, 1.21, that focuses on improving stability and addressing common progression-blocking issues. Given that the latest significant update introduced its own bevy of bugs, it seems like the developer still has its work cut out for itself, but the fact remains that it is constantly working on fixing its most heinous problems. Fixed an issue in Gig: Getting Warmer… where the player was unable to lower 8ug8ear’s body temperature....

Much like they did with Disneyland’s 65th anniversary, Funko and Disney recently teamed up on a collection of Pop figures that marked the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. The Magic Kingdom opened its doors on October 1st 1971, but the anniversary celebration will last for quite some time. Funko kicked things off with the first wave of WDW50 Pop figures back in November, and followed that up with Wave 2 in January....

Fans watching the four-hour director’s cut of Justice League on HBO Max may have noticed that there was a billboard emblazoned with a big “you are not alone” message. And while it may be easy to assume it’s just a reference to Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel, in which that’s the message sent from General Zod ahead of his attack on Metropolis, the truth is, it’s something much more inspirational: a “cameo” appearance for the American Society for Suicide Prevention, a charity that Snyder and his fans have singled out for help throughout the #ReleaseTheSnyderCut campaign during the last three or so years....

All Elite Wrestling will return to touring next month, and to commemorate the event the promotion announced four special episodes of AEW Dynamite across the month of July. The four events will incliude Road Rager (July 7 in Miami), Fyter Fest Night 1 (July 14 in Austin, Texas), Fyter Fest Night 2 (Dallas) and Fight for the Fallen (Charlotte, NC). Tickets for all four shows are officially on sale now. AEW’s schedule will then turn towards the premiere of AEW Rampage on Aug....

Aleister Black made his surprise arrival in All Elite Wrestling during AEW Dynamite: Road Rager on Wednesday night in Miami. On Thursday AEW’s Twitter account officially confirmed Black had signed with the promotion, adding him to the signature #AllElite graphic. Black was released by WWE back on June 2, and on Wednesday morning he released a short film where announced his new name while escaping a mental asylum. His first night in AEW saw him cut the power twice throughout the show before attacking both Arn Anderson and Cody Rhodes with his Black Mass finisher....

You’d be hard-pressed to find a more beloved kids’ show from the ’90s that Are You Afraid of the Dark?, a series that followed in the footsteps of horror anthologies like Tales from the Darkside and Tales from the Crypt, though toned down its terror to appeal to younger audiences. With the 2019 revival of the concept, everything that made the series special was put into a blender, while also injecting some fresh perspectives to ultimately craft a wholly original premise, with Are You Afraid of the Dark?...

Edens Zero’s composer has updated fans on the anime’s newest production milestone! Hiro Mashima’s newest series will be getting its official anime due later this April, and one of the big peeks behind the curtain of its progress has been series composer Yoshihisa Hirano. Hirano (who has provided the scores for series like Hunter x Hunter and Death Note) has offered quite a few updates with fans during the course of his work with the adaptation....

The previously delayed Ghostrunner DLC Project_Hel has finally been released for the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam, the Epic Games Store, and GOG. Given that March’s PlayStation Plus lineup includes Ghostrunner on PS5, there will likely be even more interest than usual in that fact. The Nintendo Switch version is still set to launch in the near future, according to publisher 505 Games as well as developers and partners One More Level, All In!...

The Disney Junior animated series Spidey and His Amazing Friends is getting its very own all-ages comic book just in time for Free Comic Book Day. Peter Parker, Miles Morales, and Gwen Stacy star in Spidey and His Amazing Friends, a new animated series that airs on Disney Junior, Disney+, YouTube and Marvel HQ and was recently renewed for a second season. A promotional comic based on the show is now available in comic shops, just days before FCBD kicks off on Saturday, May 7th....

Pokemon Journeys is getting ready to welcome Marnie and Piers to the anime with an early promo for a future episode of the series!
