The CW has released the synopsis for “Armageddon, Part 5” the conclusion to the five-part “Armageddon” event kicking off the eighth season of The Flash. The episode will see the return of Mia Queen (Katherine McNamara), one of several returning Arrowverse characters who make an appearance in the event. According to the synopsis, Mia will come from the future on a mission of her own – a mission that she won’t let anyone deter her from....

James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad spinoff series Peacemaker hits HBO Max this week. Gunn is now clarifying when, exactly, the episodes will debut. Gunn previously confirmed that Peacemaker would debut its first three episodes “One minute past midnight on January 13! (Wednesday night/Thursday morning)” (he even recommended a snack for viewing). But one minute past midnight for whom? He’s now returned to Twitter to add some clarity. “To be clear (because so many asked for clarification & I didn’t know until today) #Peacemaker premieres at 12:01am PST (Wed night/Thu morning) and 3:01 EST,” he tweeted....

Another new episode of WandaVision dropped on Disney+ this weekend, and it featured more exciting easter eggs which have led to new theories about what exactly is going on with Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) and the town of Westview, New Jersey. Every episode of the series (except episode four) has featured a commercial break advertising an item that directly relates to Wanda’s past traumas. The first episode included a commercial for a toaster made by Stark Industries, which was likely a nod to Vision sometimes being referred to as a toaster as well as a nod to the fact that Wanda and her brother were almost killed by a Stark weapon when they were kids....

Jason Momoa’s long-in-development take on The Crow may be gone, but it certainly is not forgotten. Originally set to be directed by Corin Hardy (The Nun), The Crow was supposed to be a darker take on the material, infused with more horror than the original ’90s film and based more on the comic book source material than anything that had been released since. Its tortured development path had everything: script problems, financing problems, rights issues arising out of a studio’s financial distress…and ultimately the loss of both director Corin Hardy and star Jason Momoa....

Samuel L. Jackson let slip a secret role in Secret Invasion: Martin Freeman’s CIA Agent Everett Ross. According to Jackson, Freeman will appear in the Marvel Studios series reuniting Jackson’s super-spy Nick Fury with the Skrull Talos (Captain Marvel’s Ben Mendelsohn) and Maria Hill (The Avengers’ Cobie Smulders). The Sherlock actor joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2016’s Captain America: Civil War, playing a handler for the Joint Terrorism Task Force, and later reprised his role as Agent Ross in 2018’s Black Panther....

The Legends of Runeterra team talked recently about the final region coming to the game which will feature Bandle City and its Yordle inhabitants League of Legends players will be plenty familiar with by now. At the same time, the developers shared a roadmap that detailed everything players can expect around and after the “Beyond the Bandlewood” set releases. The Marvel Cinematic Universe seems to be getting major updates on an almost-daily basis, including some tied to Black Widow, which finally debuted earlier this month after a series of COVID-19 delays. The film was released both in theaters and through Disney+’s Premier Access tier, something that has sparked its own conversation this week, upon news that franchise star Scarlett Johansson will be suing the company over the decision. The move, which alleges that Johansson’s initial contract was breached once the film no longer received a “theatrical wide release”, has been buzzed about for a lot of different reasons — and a new report might indicate one side of it....

Robert Kirkman won’t be taking a bite out of Marvel Zombies, the Marvel Studios animated series announced for Disney+. Kirkman, who wrote the five-issue Marvel Comics limited series about zombified superheroes that inspired an episode of Disney+’s animated What If…?, reveals he’s not involved with the series spinning out of “What If… Zombies?!” Reacting to the announcement during Disney+ Day on Friday, the brains behind Marvel Zombies and The Walking Dead says he’s “happily very busy” working outside of the infinite Marvel multiverse....

The worlds of anime and horror are two genres that often don’t meet, or at the very least don’t meet as often as say action-adventure stories and romantic comedy series, but the streaming service of Netflix is looking to change that with an upcoming series that is slated to hit the platform in 2022. Exception appears to be a science fiction, horror series that has a startling key visual, thanks in no small part to the character designer from the Final Fantasy franchise, Yoshitaka Amano, with Yuzo Sato set to direct and the anime studios Bakken Record and 5 Inc bringing it to life....

Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom made Oscars history on Sunday night and Netflix was in the mood to celebrate. The film took home the award for Best Hair and Makeup with Mia Neal, Sergio Lopez-Rivera, and Jamie Wilson playing a huge role on the team. This is the first time a Black person won the award for this kind of work. Netflix expects to bring home some more hardware tonight with Viola Davis and Chadwick Boseman also nominated....

Universal Studios Japan is quite different than the Universal Studios which sits in Orlando, Florida, with the theme park of the East taking the opportunity to focus on some of the biggest anime franchises around. With series such as Attack on Titan, Sailor Moon, Case Closed, and more receiving their own attractions over the years, it seems that 2022 is set to give One Piece its first roller coaster, allowing park-goers to jump on-board the Going Merry alongside the Straw Hat Pirates....

Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia, California, is adding another ride attraction to the theme park’s impressive DC Universe lineup: a new rollercoaster called “Wonder Woman Flight of Courage.” Wonder Woman will be the 20th roller coaster added to Six Flags Magic Mountain, making it the undisputed record holder for most roller coasters in a single amusement park. Moreover, the “Wonder Woman Flight of Courage” ride will be the tallest and longest single-rail coaster in the world, taking riders up 13 stories before sending them flying down at speeds of 58 mpg....

Fans have a new glimpse at the upcoming Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse sequel, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. Sony Pictures Animation brought footage from Across the Spider-Verse to The Annecy International Animation Film Festival and while it hasn’t released the footage online, it did kick off a Twitter thread summarizing the “Sony Pictures Animation Presents: ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’” panel by showing off artist Jesús Alonso Iglesias’ exclusive Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse lithograph given to attendees....
