Anime heroes being dropped into magical worlds while hailing from worlds that are far more mundane is big business right now, with the genre known as Isekai giving fans some of the biggest series within the medium today. Series like Sword Art Online, Overlord, The Rising of the Shield Hero, and Log Horizon are just a few examples of big-time Isekai, and it seems that a fan-favorite series, Konosuba, has announced that it is set to return for a new season as well as a spin-off series, following the release of two seasons and a movie for the hilarious quartet of adventurers....

Captain Jack Aubrey may sail the high seas once again as a new report reveals 20th Century is developing a new version of Master and Commander, rebooting the property that started and ended with the 2004 film. Deadline brings word that A Monster Calls writer Patrick Ness has been tapped to pen the script which will reportedly be based on the first book in the “Aubrey–Maturin series” series by Patrick O’Brian....

Ryan Reynolds is sitting pretty on the cover of Entrepreneur Magazine this month. It’s not surprising to see the Deadpool actor becoming more of a presence in the business world. Fans have enjoyed the increased profile of Mint Mobile over the course of the last few years. (Some of them seriously appreciated the company’s charitable stance near the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic with free communication.) Star Wars fans will apparently get the chance to watch the entire Obi-Wan Kenobi series as one big movie event… in theaters. According to StarWars.net, there is a theater listing that suggests the entire six-episode Obi-Wan Kenobi event series will be getting a “limited theatrical engagement” in Cineplex theaters on the day that the finale (“Part VI”) premieres on Disney+. There will also be a Q&A series held a theater location in Canada, featuring people involved with the series....

The writers of The Simpsons already have the perfect idea for Dwayne Johnson to meet Lisa Simpson. Comic-Con at Home brought the entire creative team the chance to offer their pleas to The Rock. The entire effort was spearheaded by Lisa’s voice actor, Yardley Smith. As soon as the floor was open for comments, she asked, “Can we please have an episode where Lisa Simpson befriends The Rock?” Everyone sitting at home got a kick out of that including the writers who have already begun spitballing such a concept....

Jeff Lowe is in hot water with the law again as the Tiger King star and his wife were arrested for a suspected DUI. The Oklahoman reports that the Oklahoma Police got a call at around 2 AM Saturday morning. A white Range Rover went over a curb at high speed. The police indicate that Lauren Lowe opened her door and called for help with what they describe as “slurred speech....

Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun will be taking a brief break before airing Season 2’s next episode! The anime adaptation of Osamu Nishi’s original manga series really took off with fans when it aired its debut season back in 2019, and the anime made its return for its second season of episodes earlier this year as part of the Spring 2019 anime schedule. The second season has been proceeding as planned through the Summer 2021 schedule as well, but it will be hitting a brief hiccup before the debut of its next episode due to an unexpected schedule change in Japan....

WWE’s Tribal Chief Roman Reigns is a force to be reckoned with inside the ring, but he’s also just as big time in the world of television, and he’ll be commanding the spotlight later tonight on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. The leader of The Bloodline will be sitting down with Fallon during tonight’s episode, and their conversation will kick off at 11:35 PM EST. As for what they talk about, well, you know WrestleMania is going to be a main topic of discussion, and that means you have to mention the always volatile Brock Lesnar as well....

Over the past decade, A24 Films has carved a niche for themselves among genre fans, as releases like Enemy, It Comes at Night, Hereditary, and The Lighthouse marked ambitious approaches to genre storytelling that were a far cry from what audiences would expect from mainstream releases. Their latest horror film, X, takes a similar approach to unraveling a horror story, though while it will surely be lumped into the ambiguous and dismissive label of “elevated horror,” it comes from writer/director Ti West, who was been delivering these circumventions of tonal expectations since back in the days when such approaches were called “mumblegore....

After years of development hell the hit comic book series Y: The Last Man was finally adapted in live-action with a series on Hulu last year. Unfortunately the pandemic-themed show arrived in the midst of an actual pandemic and unlike the comic book itself it came with a mixed-positive reception, not glowing reviews but not pans either. To add insult to injury the series ended up getting cancelled even before the final episode could premiere....

After cancellations, renewals, and delays, the final season of Brooklyn Nine-Nine has finally wrapped filming, according to co-creator Dan Goor, who announced the conclusion of production on Twitter. The upcoming season marks the eighth season of the series, which premiered on FOX in 2013. In 2018, the network cancelled the series, largely due to its dwindling viewership numbers despite always earning strong critical reactions, only for NBC to then pick up the series for its final three seasons....

Bryan Danielson closed out this week’s AEW Dynamite standing face-to-face with Miro, his opponent at the Full Gear pay-per-view in the finals of the AEW World Championship Eliminator Tournament. Once the cameras stopped rolling Danielson decided to have a bit of fun in the ring, which including recreating an infamous moment from his past with Justin Roberts. Way back in 2010, Danielson (then Daniel Bryan) debuted on WWE’s main roster as a member of The Nexus and helped the group in tearing apart the ring on an episode of Raw....

Chris Jericho arrived on AEW Dynamite this week and threw out a special challenge for MJF. After losing once again to Friedman last week in the fifth “Labour of Jericho,” the former AEW Champion said that he’ll put his in-ring career on the line for one more shot against his former protege. Friedman walked out onto the entrance ramp and initially told Jericho to just leave him alone, but then said that being the man to end the “Demo God’s” career would be legendary....

The CW has released a preview for “Deus Ex Latrina”, the sixth episode of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow’s seventh season. The episode is set to air on Wednesday, November 17th. Having met up with Dr. Gwyn Davies (Matt Ryan), the Legends finally get back to the business of time travel again, but unfortunately, things don’t quite go as planned. From the looks of things in the preview, something goes “kaput” with the time machine leaving the heroes with no idea where or when they are....

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is officially in the books, and its six episodes brought some major new developments in the stories of Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) and Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan). In addition to some massive leaps for each character’s superhero tenure in the MCU, the series offered a domestic look at their civilian lives. Given the fact that some fans have been clamoring to see moments like that in the MCU for years, they definitely launched a number of additional fan theories and speculation as the series marched along....

After much teasing and some time on the test servers, Fallout 76’s Steel Reign update has finally been released. The patch adds more Brotherhood of Steel content along with adjustments to different parts of the game’s Legendary Gear systems including the addition of Legendary Crafting, the ability to make Legendary Power Armor piece, and other changes. Maintenance for the update has already concluded, so it should be ready to play on every platform after you’ve installed it....

Friends: The Reunion finally dropped on HBO Max at the end of May, and it was a true delight for hardcore fans of the sitcom, which ran from 1994-2004. The reunion featured all six core cast members of Friends, which includes Jennifer Aniston (Rachel Green), Courteney Cox (Monica Geller), Lisa Kudrow (Phoebe Buffay), David Schwimmer (Ross Geller), Matt LeBlanc (Joey Tribbiani), and Matthew Perry (Chandler Bing). Since the special aired, many of the stars have taken to social media to share fun posts in honor of the reunion....

Oz and Homicide star Granville Adams has died after a battle with cancer. The actor was 58 years old. Adams’ passing was shared by his Oz co-star Kirk Acevedo on social media on Sunday, with Acevedo writing “I lost my brotha today after a long battle with cancer. I don’t do well with loss because I’m unfamiliar with it. Yo Granny we’ll be chopping it up on the other side one day....

Wait a second, is Rockstar Games teasing the setting of GTA 6? Rockstar Games has finally confirmed that GTA 6 is real and in development. What it didn’t reveal were any details on the project. For example, we don’t know what platforms the game is in development for. or when it’s releasing. We’ve heard through the grapevine Rockstar is aiming for a 2023 release, but a 2024 release on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S is far more likely....

Jon Moxley opened this week’s AEW Dynamite with a promo addressing his time away from wrestling after checking himself into an alcohol treatment program. He explained that months ago he had a dream while on a plane where he was confronted by a black cloud-like demon telling him that all of the good things in his life he didn’t earn and that he wouldn’t get away with keeping it all. He then said there were plenty of people in the world who are probably ready to write him off, but that he’s back and has never felt more free....
