The Governor General’s Award is presented to significant works for readers of all kinds. It makes sense that Reynolds would get a chance at this award because of his contributions to the performing arts. As a part of the 2021 National Arts Centre Awards ceremony, he got a lot of love from the presenters....

Mint Mobile owner Ryan Reynolds announced a huge deal with that epic voice guy from the movies. In the post to Twitter, the Deadpool actor says, “Hey it’s Ryan Reynolds here with a deal from Mint Mobile to tell you about that is so epic that so freaking huge that I had to ask Epic Voice Guy to translate it into a summer blockbuster.” The gentlemen in question really channel that trailer voice and the fans seem to think the entire thing was hilarious....

Sony Animation will release the sequel to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse next year, and it’s going to be a gigantic endeavor. When the studio announced the title to the film, they revealed that the film would be split into two parts called Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and Spider-Man: Beyond The Spider-Verse. The sequel was initially supposed to be released this past spring but was delayed until summer 2023 to have “more time make it great....

Skateboarding legend Tony Hawk is selling custom skateboards that are infused with his blood for $500 a pop. The Tony Hawk blood skateboards are a promotion created by Hawk and the canned water brand Liquid Death; the process mixes Tony Hawk’s blood with the paint used to detail the skateboards, to create one-of-a-kind bloody artwork pieces - figuratively and literally. The art features Liquid Death’s “It’s the Thirst Executioner” mascot, holding the skull of a hawk (the bird) as an ode to the skateboarding icon....

Israel Adesanya defeated Marvin Vettori at UFC 263. It’s pretty clear these two fighters don’t care for each other at all, and this exchange proved it. The Nigerian fighter managed to get back on track after a disappointing evening at UFC 259 against Jan Blachowicz. This is a bit of a redemption moment for both fighters. Marvel Studios Assembled: The Making of WandaVision is officially streaming on Disney+ and it provided a whole lot of insight into what went on behind-the-scenes of the Marvel show. Today, Xbox Game Studios Publishing announced the hiring of Kim Swift, best known for her work as a developer on Portal and Left 4 Dead at Valve. Swift is being brought on to “collaborate with independent studios to build games for the cloud.” According to Venture Beat’s Jeff Grubb, one of these studios is Kojima Productions. Earlier this year, Grubb reported that Xbox was in negotiations with Hideo Kojima to produce an Xbox Series X exclusive game, though it was unclear if a deal had been struck....

All Elite Wrestling will host its first Blood & Guts match during this week’s AEW Dynamite between The Inner Circle and The Pinnacle. Ever since the concept was first announced back in early 2020 fans have immediately compared it to the classic WCW WarGames matches of the 80s and 90s. In many ways they are the same — two teams, two rings surrounded by one cage, the match can only end by submission or knockout once every competitor has officially entered — but Chris Jericho explained in an interview with New York Post this week that they won’t be exactly the same....

Disney’s new Genie+ and Lightning Lane services officially launch at Disney World today, and we know the inaugural prices for some of the individual Lightning Lane passes. Disney World is rolling out its Lightning Lane and Genie+ services starting today, providing visitors with a replacement to the Fast Pass service previously utilized by the park. Visitors can now pay $15 per ticket to access the Genie+ service, which grants them access to the Lightning Lane at most rides and attractions across Disney World’s four parks....
