On Wednesday, The CW’s new series Kung Fu debuts. A reimagining of the classic 1970s series, Kung Fu stars Olivia Liang as Nicky Shen, a young Chinese-American woman who returns home to San Francisco after a life-changing journey to an isolated monastery in China only to discover that her city has been overrun with crime and corruption and that her own family is at its mercy. While the series is inspired by the original Kung Fu, it’s a fresh new tale and one that is not only groundbreaking but comes at a time when hate crimes against Asian-Americans are on the rise....

One of the biggest questions surrounding the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s future has concerned the introduction of the Fantastic Four and the X-Men, who can now be folded into the MCU continuity following Disney’s purchase of 20th Century Fox a few years ago. The Fantastic Four, in particular, have already been debated about at length, especially given the several unsuccessful film reboots that previously starred the characters. The Fantastic Four reboot does not currently have a cast, a confirmed release date, or a director (following the exit of Spider-Man: No Way Home helmer Jon Watts), but that hasn’t stopped speculation about how the team could be established within the main Earth-616 of the MCU....

James Gunn revealed that 1970s Captain America inspired Peacemaker in The Suicide Squad. The director talked to Den of Geek about the upcoming movie and the HBO Max series. John Cena’s all-American hero seems to be riffing on Steve Rogers’ adventures on television during that era. There are a lot of outsized adventures during that decade on the page. Cena’s characterization in the trailers was most straight-laced and preachy in contrast to some of the more modern takes on Captain America....

Stephen Amell took to social media to clear up an incident that happened on a Delta flight leaving Austin and heading to Los Angeles. According to Amell, there was an argument between him and his wife while on the plane before it had taken off, and at one point he was asked to lower his voice. Amell says he did, but about 10 minutes later he was asked to leave the flight....

Tom Brady made headlines earlier this year when he announced his retirement from the National Football League. Home Alone star Macaulay Culkin turned some heads at the latest Gucci fashion show with a surprise appearance. The 41-year-old actor was not the only celebrity in attendance for the runway walk. Hollywood Boulevard played host to Gucci’s Love Parade Show. Phoebe Bridgers and Jared Leto were also on hand for model walks of their own. Serena Williams, Lizzo, Miley Cyrus, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Billie Eilish all watched Culkin show off that strut in some wide-legged tan pants and a statement Hawaiian shirt....

In the Heights staple Quiara Alegria Hudes handled the script. The tiny rainforest primate will accompany Juan de Marcos’ elderly musician on the journey to find his old singing partner in Estefan....

Spider-Man: No Way Home just released some brand new photos from the movie. MJ is more than a bit surprised when she and Spidey have to make a quick escape in the new shots. Doctor Strange also looks on as the young hero faces an unknown threat in another image. Benedict Cumberbatch’s sorcerer plays a big role in Now Way Home, but what horrors the young hero has helped unleashed remains a bit of a mystery....

Star Trek: Discovery has paused production in Canada due to some off-set COVID-19 exposure. One Zone A individual from the CBS series was involved according to The Hollywood Reporter. Discovery is currently recording at Pinewood Studios in Toronto. There was another employee associated with another series who spoke with the Zone A member away from the set and now things have to be put on hold. Canada is currently experiencing a third wave of cases which has limited travel to and from the country....
