Triple H broke the news on Stephen A’s World this week that he is officially retired from wrestling, going into detail about his near-death experience last year. He told the First Take personality, “I had viral pneumonia. My lungs were inflamed, and as the next couple of days went on and I got home, it got increasingly worse. My wife [WWE executive Stephanie McMahon] saw some blood and stuff that I was coughing up, and I went and got checked, and it was coming from the viral pneumonia, but I had fluid in my lungs....

Finn Balor recently made his return to SmackDown after a successful Championship run in NXT, and many expected him to either head to Raw or SmackDown after his epic 2nd run on the black and gold brand came to end. After coming to SmackDown he entered into a program with the Tribal Chief himself Roman Reigns (with some interference from John Cena and Baron Corbin), but it could’ve turned out differently if WWE had run with the idea Balor initially pitched them....

The acclaimed and popular series Yellowstone will be streaming seasons 1-3 for FREE on Pluto TV, starting this week. The Office star Brian Baumgartner (aka Dunder Mifflin accountant Kevin Malone) is starting a new podcast based on The Office, which will be stream on iHeartMedia. Titled “The Office Deep Dive with Brian Baumgartner”, the show will offer an insider’s look at the making of the landmark workplace sitcom, from the unique perspective of the people who made the show. “The Office Deep Dive…” has already lined up major guests like series stars Steve Carell (Michael Scott) John Krasinski (Jim Halpert), Jenna Fischer (Pam Halpert), Rainn Wilson (Dwight Schrute), Angela Kinsey (Angela Martin), and series creator Greg Daniels....

The 73rd annual Primetime Emmy Awards took place Sunday night, returning to a live, in-person ceremony hosted by Cedric the Entertainer this year after 2020’s virtual ceremony. Zack Snyder’s Justice League was released on HBO Max this week, and its four-hour runtime means a whole lot more screentime for the movie’s cast, including Ray Fisher. The Victor Stone/Cyborg actor is clearly a fan of this new cut, and even called it “a study of the human condition.” Many people have taken to social media to praise Fisher’s performance in the Snyder Cut, including Charisma Carpenter. Capcom delivered a Monster Hunter World update this week in an effort to resolve some of the issues with saved data that players have been encountering since the Iceborne expansion went live. Players were frequently logging on to try out the new content only to find that their previous saves weren’t working, a serious dampener to anyone who was excited about the expansion. Capcom acknowledged the issues as they were reported and made good on the promise of a fix with the recent update....

It would appear that the November 2021 free games for PlayStation Plus have leaked ahead of the official reveal by PlayStation much like the October and September titles before them. While all of this should be taken with a grain of salt, said grain continues to get smaller given the accuracy of the same leaker over the past couple of months. Pokemon Journeys: The Series is teasing Darkrai’s return to the anime with a new trailer! The best aspect of the newest iteration of the anime is that it has eschewed the traditional Pokemon franchise route of having Ash Ketchum explore whatever the newest region of the video game series was, and instead has seen Ash and new hero Goh travel through every region of the video game franchise seen thus far....

Star Trek: Enterprise turns 20 years old in 2021, and the new season premiere of Star Trek: Discovery paid tribute. Be warned that SPOILERS follow for today’s Star Trek: Discovery season four premiere episode, “Kobayashi Maru.” The episode picks up where the previous season of Star Trek: Discovery left off. Michael Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green) is now captain of Discovery. The ship and its crew travel the galaxy bearing dilithium as a gift and hoping to reconnect the planets of the Federation....

The second season finale of Star Trek: Picard brought back a beloved Star Trek: The Next Generation star, Wil Wheaton, as Wesley Crusher. A new behind-the-scenes look at the cameo reveals that the various current Star Trek shows competed to have Welsey appear in their episodes. In the video, released via the official Star Trek website and social media channels, Wheaton says he was happy to come back in a scene that canonizes the version of Wesley Crusher post-Next Generation that has long existed in his personal head-canon....

Summer Games Done Quick 2021 Online is officially over! The regularly occurring speedrunning event from Games Done Quick came to a close this weekend having raised a total of $2,897,704 for Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors Without Borders. In addition to announcing the final total, Games Done Quick also announced that Awesome Games Done Quick 2022 will officially happen early next year like always from January 9th through January 16th. And that’s a wrap!...

The Suicide Squad’s Cinemascore is out and it should look really familiar for fans of the 2016 version. On Twitter, the site posted that James Gunn’s latest film received a B+ and that would match David Ayer’s work. It’s really hard not to draw parallels between the two films as they are in conversation with each other due to some overlapping characters and franchises. But, the audience response around The Suicide Squad has been more positive upon release....

CM Punk defeated Adam “Hangman” Page on Sunday night at the Double or Nothing pay-per-view to become the new AEW World Champion. Late in the match Page went for the Buckshot Lariat, but an attempted GTS counter from Punk resulted in the referee getting knocked out with a kick to the head. Page then considered nailing Punk with the AEW title, but backed off and tried for another Buckshot. Punk countered it yet again to nail the GTS and get the pin, winning his first world championship in professional wrestling since 2013....

Blizzard released Diablo 3’s Season 26 update this week following a reveal of the patch notes from earlier in the month. This update brings about a new theme with Season 26 centered around Echoing Nightmares along with a number of changes for Greater Rifts and a few class-based items. Those on the Xbox consoles will be happy to hear that this same update also finally fixed a problem on the newer systems with both the Xbox Series X and Series S now able to run at higher resolutions....
