Disney’s “Aladdin” Broadway Musical has had to cancel one of its performances, due to a COVID-19 outbreak. Apparently, members of the company tested positive for COVID-19 during the routine protocols that have been put in place. As such, those protocols forced Disney to cancel the “Aladdin” performance scheduled for Wednesday, September 29th at the New Amsterdam Theatre in the NYC Theater District. Full refunds are being given to those who bought tickets for that particular night of “Aladdin”; as of writing this, there are no updates about whether or not any additional performance of “Aladdin” is going to be canceled, as well....

Stampede Ventures CEO Greg Silverman, who previously served as President, Creative Development and Worldwide Production for Warner Bros. Pictures, said on social media yesterday that he thinks Zack Snyder would not get the same level of hate from critics, if he weren’t so accepting of the criticism lobbed his way. John Paul Leon, a beloved comic artist known for his work on titles like Static, Earth X, and Batman: Creature of the Night, has passed away at the age of 49. The news was confirmed on Sunday by multiple people in the comic industry, including DC Senior Editor Chris Conroy. The cause of Leon’s death is currently unknown at this time. Born on April 26, 1972 in New York City, Leon first began working in the world of illustration at the age of sixteen, with black-and-white illustrations in Dragon and Dungeon magazines....

My Hero Academia is taking over the world of anime with the latest season of its anime adaptation as well as the third movie of the franchise which just hit Japanese theaters in World Heroes Mission, which will also be coming to the West in October of this year. Last week, the Calm app announced a new Transformers Sleep Story for kids and adults to listen to while trying to sleep, attempting meditation, or looking to relax. Peter Cullen, the original voice of Optimus Prime, returns as the iconic character as he narrates the sleep story titled “History of the Transformers.” According to the press release, “History of the Transformers” is a brand new Transformers story retelling the shared history of Autobots and Decepticons “taking listeners deeper into the MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE themes of the iconic franchise,” including “bravery, leadership, friendship, and STEM....

Oscars producer Will Packer will appear on Good Morning America to address the infamous incident between Will Smith and Chris Rock that aired live Sunday during ABC’s telecast of the 94th Academy Awards. In what was the most talked-about moment of the ceremony, Smith walked on stage and struck Rock when the comedian, who was presenting the award for Best Documentary Feature, cracked a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith. According to Variety, a clip of Packer’s exclusive interview with ABC’s own GMA will show during Thursday’s broadcast of World News Tonight before airing in full Friday morning on Good Morning America....

The first trailer for Thor: Love and Thunder finally made its debut on Monday, and anticipation surrounding the Marvel Cinematic Universe blockbuster is only continuing to grow. The trailer and marketing materials have showcased that the film is clearly inspired by Jason Aaron and Esad Ribic’s Thor run from the comics, with a lot of visual and narrative elements being outlined. Clips are one of the most effective tools for streamers on Twitch, and now it seems that the feature might be coming to YouTube, as well! Ryan Wyatt, YouTube’s head of gaming and commerce, confirmed that the platform is currently experimenting with the feature “on a limited number of channels.” During the experiment window, the feature will allow creators to clip segments ranging from 5-60 seconds in length, which can then be shared on various platforms....

The Inner Circle stood victorious at the end of AEW’s Double or Nothing pay-per-view on Sunday night, defeating The Pinnacle in the second-ever Stadium Stampede match. The bout saw the 10 men battle all throughout TIAA Bank Field in Jacksonville (including Coach Urban Meyer’s office) eventually leading to Sammy Guevara chasing Shawn Spears into Daily’s Place with a golf cart. WWE held its latest round of tryouts at the WWE Performance Center this past week and a number of photos released from the event have confirmed who took part this time around. Fox’s fan-favorite action series 24 may be making a comeback. According to Fox Entertainment president Michael Thorn, there is potential for the Kiefer Sutherland starring terrorism drama series to return and active discussions are underway to revive the series with a new take, though Thorn did note that there were discussions that hadn’t yet happened regarding a specific new take for the series. “There’s still a possibility, there’s still some discussions with the producers on a take that we have yet to hear,” Thorn told Deadline....
