Marilyn Eastman, an actress and producer best known for her role on George Romero’s Night of the Living Dead, has passed away at the age of 87. The news was announced via a Facebook post from her son, John Eastman, who confirmed that the actress passed away in her sleep on Sunday, August 22nd. Eastman developed a cult following of fans for her involvement in the 1968 horror film, including playing one of the film’s human characters, Helen Cooper....

It looks like Capcom’s DLC plans for Resident Evil Village could finally be unveiled in the very near future. Although Capcom hasn’t promised that it will have any major news to share related to Resident Evil Village directly, the Japanese publisher did recently say that it is planning to make some announcements associated with the larger franchise later this month. And based on what we have seen so far, it looks like this tease could be in relation to the most recent installment in the survival-horror series....

Rick and Morty just killed Galactus in Season 5 and the Internet is reeling. The Transformers also made a huge appearance during the first half of the episodes. So, the fans are going bananas about the reveal. Rick and Jerry are out to mess with some Cenobites from Hellraiser. Robert Kirkman’s Skybound Entertainment and indie videogames developer Night School Studios have announced a partnership around Night School’s upcoming release, Oxenfree. Skybound plans to help Night School develop Oxenfree as a franchise brand, seeking opportunities to expand into film, a web docuseries, merchandise, and more. Fans are invited to tune in to twitch.tv/skybound starting at 11am PT where we will be playing and discussing the game throughout the day! The Story of Oxenfree videos will be released daily on youtube....

Director Zack Snyder returned to the zombie genre with a bang last week, as he debuted Army of the Dead on Netflix. The film was met with critical acclaim and an instant audience, holding on to the number one spot on Netflix’s Top 10 since its release. Snyder released Army of the Dead not just as a film, but as an entire franchise, with a prequel movie and animated series already set for Netflix, in addition to a potential sequel that he seems keen on directing....

A new report suggests that Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam movie is looking for its Doctor Fate. We know that the film will introduce a version of the Justice Society of America, DC Comics’ original superhero team. The film already cast Aldis Hodge as Hawkman and Noah Cenetineo as Atom Smasher and Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone. Doctor Fate also reportedly has a role. While some fans wondered if that’s who the new cast member Marwan Kenzari is playing, Murphy’s Multiverse reports that the film is still casting for Doctor Fate or someone who fits the description....

Blue’s Clues is getting a brand new movie this year and fans are excited. During Paramount’s big showcase today, the company announced Blue’s Big City Adventure alongside a lot of their children’s content. Blue will join other family favorites like Paw Patrol, Dora, and Baby Shark on Paramount+. Steve, Joe and Josh will be alongside their friend as they help her navigate this new world on the streaming service. Paramount was none too shy about getting family friendly content on the app after its launch....

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness featured a number of surprising appearances from faces familiar to Marvel fans who have followed projects developed outside of the Marvel Studios umbrella. Among other actors playing variant versions of Marvel heroes they have played elsewhere was Anson Mount, giving another shot to the Inhuman leader known as Black Bolt. Mount portrayed the character on Marvel’s The Inhumans TV series which only lasted for one season....

Free Guy was finally released this week, and it’s been an interesting journey. Not only was the Ryan Reynolds-led film one of the many films that suffered from pandemic delays, but it was put in an interesting position during the Fox/Disney merger. The movie was greenlit as a Fox property, but things changed a bit once Disney got involved. One perk of this move is the fact that Free Guy got to feature some fun Disney elements....

GTA 5 DLC has leaked online – via Steam – but it’s not the DLC you and everyone else has been begging Rockstar Games to add for eight years. At this point, it’s safe to count out GTA 5 getting GTA 4-like DLC. If it was going to happen, it would have happened by now. However, while the game’s single-player campaign hasn’t been added to since release, Rockstar has poured a ton of content into GTA Online, and the success of GTA Online is a big reason why we are now getting GTA 5 on PS5 and Xbox Series X in an “expanded and enhanced” form....

HBO and BBC One have announced that filming has begun on the third and final season of His Dark Materials, the live-action adaptation of Philip Pullman’s award-winning book series. The third season of the show is based on The Amber Spyglass, the final book in the series, and is confirmed to run eight episodes. An official description for the new season was revealed in the press release which reads: “Season three will see Will (Amir Wilson), the bearer of The Subtle Knife, and Lyra (Dafne Keen), the prophesied child, travel through multiple worlds to find and protect each other....

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure shocked many fans earlier this year when it was revealed that an anime adaptation was in the works for the anime franchise’s sixth part, Stone Ocean, and it seems as if an upcoming event taking place this summer will be focusing on the adventures of the Golden Wind right before Jolyne Cujoh becomes the new protagonist. The event, which will take place on June 11th and run until the end of next month, will run under the title of “JoJo’s New Departure” and fans are now wondering if this event might give us a release date for the Stone Ocean....

My Hero Academia has released a new poster for the upcoming World Heroes’ Mission movie! My Hero Academia is having a pretty huge year as not only is the anime now in the midst of its fifth season, and the Final Act of the series has kicked off in Kohei Horikoshi’s original manga release, the franchise will be expanding with a brand new feature film later this Summer in Japan. This new movie will see Izuku Midoriya, Shoto Todoroki, and Katsuki Bakugo team up with all sorts of heroes to fight villains across the world....

When Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City arrives in theaters next month, it’s promising a much more faithful take on the world established in the video games. In a new vignette shared by the official Twitter account, director Johannes Roberts showcases some of the ways that the film will pay tribute to Capcom’s beloved games. The video showcases some incredible side-by-side comparisons between the adaptation and source material; locations like Spencer Mansion and the Raccoon City police station look exactly like they do in the games!...

The fifth episode of The Book of Boba Fett, “The Return of The Mandalorian,” was released on Disney+ today and fans are freaking out about the show’s long-rumored The Mandalorian crossover. The episode was directed by Jurassic World star, Bryce Dallas Howard, who was the perfect person to bring Mando into the Boba Fett fold. Previously, Howard helmed “Chapter 4: Sanctuary” and “Chapter 11: The Heiress” of The Mandalorian, and she’s getting high praise for her first episode of The Book of Boba Fett....

Star Wars: The Bad Batch brought back two Star Wars: The Clone Wars characters in its latest episode, and now those two characters have spotlight posters. Star Wars: The Bad Batch previously brought The Mandalorian’s Fennec Shand into animation played by Ming-Na Wen. Now it’s reached back to Star Wars: The Clone Wars’ final season, which introduced Clone Force 99, to pluck the Martez sisters, Rafa and Trace, and bring them into Star Wars’ darkest era....

What If…? came to an end this week, and Marvel fans are excited to see what the future holds for the animated series. The show’s finale saw The Watcher (Jeffrey Wright) assemble the “Guardians of the Multiverse” in the hopes of taking down Ultron. There were many dark episodes throughout the season, but there were also some filled with comic relief. The funniest episode by far was “What If… Thor Were an Only Child?...
